‘Professional doodler’ Hattie Stewart has burst onto our scene with her infectious and quirky doodles. Hattie’s fun and exuberant illustrations have made her the perfect match for the designers she has worked with...
Frankie Thorp: Illustration
The best thing about Frankie's illustrations is that occasionally, only some of the most seemingly irrelevant features are highlighted, are given colour and made to stand out from the rest of the piece. It allows us to be not only impressed by the simple yet accurate depiction of boldly form and dimensions...
Stephanie Brown: Illustration
Keeping such a diary is definitely an unconventional approach. The yellowed foreground is certainly a lovely way to experience the additional sketched colours differently and Im sure make all the colours used much more vital and animate as opposed to having plain white foregrounds. The content, wildly and generously applied dances over the pages, screaming for attention... The palette seems consistent throughout but is never made to appear dull - keeping within the range of blacks, reds, greys and dirty light blues.
Keren Asaf: Illustration
Perhaps the kiddies are play fighting with the birds equally obsessed, over the final string of colour left in one of my favourites of Keren Asaf"s illustrations. Maybe the man faced with a similar situation struggles for the red string itself to stay in the drawing, too. His lean is immediately believable.
Keren has no intention of bombarding us, instead delivering only the important in a predominantly blank realm. The content is of course intriguing enough to keep us involved and engaged with whatever ideas are available to us through examining the loosely drawn forms.
Laura Barnard: Illustration
Laura Barnard's illustrations lace off into other things or simply just more things, sometimes of the same kind, sometimes into messages.
"You Make My Heart Race", is a personal favourite for many, I expect. Something so simple, so demode, transformed into a statement of meaning, of love.
